About Implants

Allergen textured implants

After the news that Allergan’s CE mark for their Biocell® textured surface implants has not been renewed, Consultant Plastic Surgeon and BAAPS member David Gault made the following statement:

"I would like to reassure patients who have undergone their breast augmentation or augmentation-mastopexy under my care that I have never used Allergen textured implants.

There is no current scientific indication for any of my own patients to consider removing or replacing implants. Patients should continue with any follow-up arrangements currently in place.”

The Breast & Cosmetic Implant Registry

was opened on 10 October 2016. It is expected to capture the details of all breast implant procedures completed in England by both the NHS and private providers.

Provided that you sign the BCIR Participant Consent Form your details will be added to the registry by the implant provider (the hospital).

Please find below attachments with further information.  If you would like to participate, please print out, complete and sign the form and return it to us so that we can forward it to the hospital, or send it direct to the hospital if you prefer.
