Ear Reduction costs - one side only
Macrotia costs and options - one ear only
David Gault is able to reduce the ears at the upper poles, or at the lobes or both. His consultation fee is £240, payable on booking.
His fee for upper pole ear reduction surgery for one ear only is £1995 including one follow-up. If you have a general anaesthetic (GA) or intravenous (IV) sedation, then there is an additional fee of £395 for the anaesthetist. If you have a local anaesthetic (LA), then there is an additional fee of £350. The hospital’s fee depends on which one you choose, but in every case a local anaesthetic procedure is cheaper than a general anaesthetic one, or one with IV sedation, and an out-patient procedure (Walk-in, walk-out (WIWO)) is cheaper than a day case (DC) stay. You would need to stay in hospital as a day case if you chose to have a general anaesthetic (GA)or IV sedation but it would be unusual to require a night’s stay in hospital.
The cheapest hospital option currently is a walk-in, walk-out procedure.
For a GA, you add together the surgical, anaesthetic and hospital fees, for example: £1995 + £395 + £1960 approximately (not including COVID test) is the cheapest currently.
For an LA, you add together the surgical, anaesthetic and hospital fees, for example: £1995 + £350 + £795 approximately is the cheapest currently.
Mr Gault’s fee for ear and ear lobe reduction surgery for one ear only (ie upper and lower pole) is £2995 including one follow-up. If you have a general anaesthetic or IV sedation, then there is an additional fee of £425 for the anaesthetist. If you have a local anaesthetic, then there is an additional fee of £375.
The cheapest options currently are a walk-in, walk-out procedure at £995. The Weymouth’s fee for a GA DC is £2850 approximately.
For a GA, you add together the surgical, anaesthetic and hospital fees, for example: £2995 + £425 + £2850 approximately is the cheapest currently.
For an LA, you add together the surgical, anaesthetic and hospital fees, for example: £2995 + £375 + £1200 is the cheapest currently.
