Facelift Problems
The so-called pixie ear, or facelift ear can occur when the earlobes are pulled down low onto the cheeks by an ill-judged facelift. The earlobe position looks unnatural, especially from the side, and the shape of the earlobe is usually stretched and tethered, often called a "Martian" earlobe. The facelift scarring is typically in front of the ear and is often stretched and obvious.
Correction involves sweeping the cheek tissues back and upwards, reshaping the stretched lobes, repositioning them in a more natural place, and repositioning the scars behind the earlobes.
