A rhinophyma is caused by overgrowth of the sebaceous tissues of the nose forming a usually bulbous deformity, often asymmetric and multilobed.  It can be treated with a carbon dioxide laser, which removes the excess tissue whilst reducing bleeding, allowing faster healing than with conventional surgery.
