Stahl's bar deformity, AKA Spock Ear

Abnormal folding of the ear is common. A Stahl’s bar or third crus is a frequent finding at birth. The deformity often makes the ear look pointed and Stahl's ears are sometimes called Spock ears or Vulcan ears.

The problem can be difficult to correct surgically, and by far the best treatment is non-surgical, using EarBuddies splints as soon after birth as possible, whilst the ear cartilage can be remoulded.

If the time for correction is missed, then surgery is possible.
