Thank you for your enquiry.  I hope you will not mind receiving our standard response, since many questions are frequently asked. This information assumes that you have not already undergone surgery at another centre which has not met expectation.

Mr Gault normally undertakes set-back surgery (pinnaplasty) under local, general and intravenous sedation.

His standard consultation fee is £240.

Stick out ears only

The surgical fee is £3895 including one follow-up. The anaesthetic fee for a local anaesthetic (LA) is £375. Some patients prefer to have a general anaesthetic (GA), for which the anaesthetic fee of £425.

The hospital’s fee depends on which one you choose, but in every case an out-patient (Walk-in, Walk-out WIWO) stay is cheaper than a day case stay and in turn is cheaper than a one night stay.  It would be unusual to require a night’s stay in hospital.  Your hospital fee payment is made direct to the hospital. We have no sway over hospital fees, but the current approximate fees are as follows:

The cheapest currently available hospital charges approximately £2250 for a GA or LA DC.   The cheapest currently available hospital for an LA WIWO procedure charges £995.

Hospital fees do not include painkillers to take home, but you would be much better advised to buy these over-the-counter because Paracetamol from the hospital is extremely expensive. Mr Gault prefers to leave an around-head bandage on for one week, after which sutures are ready for removal.  A headband should be worn at night for about 6 weeks post-operatively to prevent the ears being pushed forwards by the pillow.

For GA surgery, you add together the surgical, anaesthetic and hospital fees, for example: £3795 + £425 + £2250 approximately.

For an LA, you add together the surgical, anaesthetic and hospital fees, for example: £3795 + £375 + £995 approximately.
